FIRST AID TRAINING
Forestry First Aid+F Enhanced (1Day)
This practical and informative course provides learners with the knowledge and practical skills needed for the treatment of injuries and diseases that could occur whilst working in a forestry/agricultural specific environment. Topics covered are: extreme hot and cold temperatures, managing catastrophic bleeding, crush injuries and lyme disease.
In addition the course covers extra topics relevant to the environment such Fracture management, basic splitting of fractures, spinal management, helmet removal, patient packaging to equip learners with the skills required to operate in remote settings.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of training, successful candidates should be able to
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering life threatening bleeding
• Administer first aid to a casualty suffering extreme hot and cold temperature
• Administer first aid to a casualty with crush injury
• Understand Lyme disease
• Administer first aid to a casualty with spinal injuries
• Understand how to remove a helmet if required
• Administer first aid to a casualty with fractures or soft tissue injuries
• Package patients in outdoor environments
• Moving and handling of patients in outdoor environments
Assessment
Continuous written and practical assessment carried out by the trainer.
Certification
Successful candidates will receive an RQF Forestry First Aid +F certificate valid for 3 years.
