Activity First Aid (2 Day)
The QA Level 2 Award in Activity First Aid (QCF) qualification has been specifically designed for those who have a responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide first aid when dealing with an emergency situation whilst undertaking activities, such as sports, swimming, hiking, rock climbing etc.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of training, successful candidates should be able to:

Understand the role of the Activity/Outdoor First Aider

Understand the importance of preventing cross infection

Understand the need for recording incidents and actions

Use available medical equipment

Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency

Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure)

Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR)

Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking
-
Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding
-
Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock

Deal with broken bones, sprains & strains

Deal with suspected spinal injuries

Deal with the patient affected by extremes of temperature

Deal with head injuries,
-
Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries, bites and stings

Recognise and treat medical emergencies such as Asthma, Diabetes and Epilepsy
Assessment
Continuous written and practical assessment carried out by the trainer.
Certification
Successful candidates will receive an updated Ofqual regulated certificate valid for a further 3 years.
